السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

Honorable all of the committee of English speech contest

Respectable all the audience

Firstly, let’s thank and pray to Allah SWT who has given us some mercies and blessing so, We can attend and gather in this good condition and happy situation.

Secondly, my peace and salutation always be given to our Prophet Muhammad SAW, who has guided us from the darkness, to the lightness, namely Islam.

Thirdly, I don’t forget to say thank you to the MC (master of ceremony) who has given me time to deliver my speech under the title:

“THE IMPORTANCE OF GETTING KNOWLEGDE”

Ladies and gentlemen.

There are many people success because of science and knowledge, it means not only science but also religion, both of them are really needed in our life. Such as, We can read because we have science, we can sing because we have science, we can read Holly Qur’an because of science, we can operate computer because of science, we can fly because we have science and there are many other example of the importance having science and knowledge,  So as human being we are instructed to get science and knowledge. Unless we will be disappointed tomorrow.

Getting knowledge is very important, whenever and wherever. Formal or informal way, We must get science and knowledge as far as and as much as possible, without thinking about the charge, the place and the age. If we have chances to get it, we do it well. If we want we can. Like Al Hadist ;

إِنَّمَا اْلأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ  

It means that, everything we do, based on the intend.

So we can take the conclusion, our intend can determine our success in getting knowledge. Don’t think about the education charge, because now there are many scholarship for us who wants to continue studying, provided that we have a good mind, discipline and smart. 

Ladies and gentlemen

By having science and knowledge, we know that someone who has science and knowledge is different. Like Alloh said in Holly Qur’an : (Az Zumar: 9)

 قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الَّذِينَ يَعْلَمُونَ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿٩﴾

It means that : "Are those equal, those who know and those who do not know? It is those who are endued with understanding that receive admonition.

Based on the theorem in Al Qur’an, it is very important for us having science and knowledge. Don’t think how old we are, how much money we have, how far is the school, it doesn’t matter. Get knowledge if we still have chance. There is a good statement “ we won’t be poor if we have knowledge” . But when we have science and knowledge , don’t forget to share with other. Because it will come the successful for us here and here after, like in Al-Hadist;

بَلِّغُوا عَنِّى وَلَوْ آيَةً

It means that ;   Say  to others although it is only one.

Ladies and gentlemen

As young generation, let’s study hard, let’s get knowledge as much as possible, because we are as the youngsters to will handle and bring our country better and better, don’t be lazy, don’t live in luxurious, don’t drug, because our time is very important in future. If want want,  we do and we can.....

Firstly, let’s pray and thank to Allah SWT who has given us mercies and blessing, so we can attend and gather in this place in a good condition and happy situation.

Secondly,  my peace and salutation always be given to our prophet Muhammad SAW who has guided us from the darkness to the lightness, from the stupidity to the cleverness, from the jahiliyah to the islamiyah namely Islam .

Thirdly, I don’t forget to say , thank you very much to the  master of ceremony who has given me time to speech in front of  you all.

I have a question for you.

Has the result of education in Indonesia been satisfying?

The answer is not yet….

You know, the result of our education is supposed to create students who are afraid and get close to Alloh and have high quality in mastering science and technology.

Like Alloh said in the Holly Qur’an.

  الله الذِيْنَ امَنُوا مِنـْكُمْ وَالّذِيْنَ اُوتُو الْعِلْمَ دَرَجَـتٍ  يَرْفَعِ 

The meaning is :

“Alloh will give you ample, and when it is said ; Raise up, then raise up. Alloh will exalt those of you who believe, and those who are given knowledge, in high degrees, and Alloh is aware of what you do “

Happy brothers and sisters.

However, what a pity when we see the reality that the result is nothing but juvenile delinquency has increased, such as ; making a date, student fighting, drug abuse, and many others.

Happy brothers and sisters….

There are only a few number of students who are serious in their study. We can count by fingers of our friends who are smart and get close to Alloh.

Then, why does this condition happen?

This problem appears because of many kind of aspects. The first thing is about the educational system in Indonesia. No doubt, our education tends to imitate the western countries that separate between the religious lesson and the worldly affairs.

It is also a pity that the religious lesson only gets a small amount of time in the schedule, only two hours a week (we find this schedule in SD, SMP, SMA or SMK).

The second aspect that contributes to the problem is the family and the environment has lack attention to the students. Today, there are many mothers who are busy working and ignore the children. The environment is also permissive to some juvenile delinquency, such as they are drinking alcoholic drink, smoking, narcotic and etc.

We must try to solve the problem, so we will not become the next victim. We must think over the cause of the problems and overcome these before they get worse. The governments should rethink about the educational program and give more portions to religious and personality lesson.

So the teachers, family and society should be more serious in teaching and paying attention to the students or the young generations. They need to learn religious early in their time.

No-one is perfect in the world. And Alloh is the only one who has the perfectness. as long as  I speak here, if you found many  mistake of my speaking, from the deepest of my heart I really apologize to you all. Thank you very much for your attention.

SAVE OUR EARTH, SAVE OUR FOREST

Good Morning everybody

الحمد لله، الحمد لله الذي نستعينه ونستغفروه ونعوذ بالله من سرور أنفسنا ومن سيئات أعمالنا من يهده الله فلا مضلله ومن يضلله فلا هديا له.

أشهد أن لا إله الا الله وحده لا شريك له وأشهد أن محمد عبده ورسوله، رب اشرخ لي صدري ويسرلي أمري واحلل عقدة من لساني يفقه قولي

Fisrt of all, let us praise to the Almighty Alloh SWT, because of His Blessing we are able to attend this contest without any obstacles in a good condition.

Secondly, may peace be upon the prophet Muhammad SAW who has guided us from the darkness into the brightness that is Islam.

I also would like to say many thanks to the juries and Master of Ceremony who have given me opportunity to deliver an English speech in front of you all.

“ SAVE OUR EARTH, SAVE OUR FOREST”

Ladies and Gentlemen

As we know, people from all over the world always commemorate Earth Day every 22^nd April. The idea of earth day is based on the awareness to save this world from the environmental destruction. It aims at making global movements to participate actively in saving our earth-the only planet in which we live.

Our country Indonesia which is known as the emerald of equator has an important role to keep the balance of world ecological system.63 percent or 1,131,000 km2 of our land territory is  forest. Meanwhile the water area is more than 317,000,000 km2, 17 percent of world plant and animal species live in Indonesia. It indicates that the ecosystem and environmental condition in Indonesia will affect the world. In the other words, the environment damage in Indonesia will influence the sustainability of the world.

Ladies and Gentlemen

One of the causes of the environmental damage is deforestation or known ad the destruction of forest. The deforestation has caused many disasters in this world,  including Indonesia. They are flood, earthquake, landslide and others, are the examples of dangerous disasters which make us realize that the existence of forest is very important.

In addition, another effect of deforestation is related with the goal warming or increase of global surface temperature which is mainly caused by the greenhouse effects. We all know , one of the most crucial issued in celebrating Earth Day is the global warming. It warns us that our earth is in danger and we should participate actively to take care of our environment.

Dear juries and audience…

We must protect our environment as good as possible because it can influence our lif, as we know Indonesia has many tropical forest and it is a source of nature which can help people live peacefully, so as human being we should preserve he forest, As Alloh said in holy Qur’an :

( Ar-Rum: 41)

Dzoharol fasaadu fil barri wal bahri bimaa kasabat aidinnaas...

There are some efforts which should be done by all people:

1.      No cutting down the trees in the forest or illegal logging

2.      Planting many kinds of trees in barren forest area.

Well… ladies and gentlemen…

You know that cutting down the trees in the forest can cause many disasters for human beings. Of course it can cause flood because the rain can be absorbed by the plant’s root, so the water will flow to the ground directly. There are many damage causes by the flood , many people are homeless because of flood, the flood can kill many kind of pet, many factories can’t produce anything, transportation can’t run well because the brigde is broken and so on. How horrible the flood is……

Actually, the disasters above can be minimized if all human beings can preserve our environment and we must pay more attention to the environment whenever and wherever, we must not throw away the rubbish, anywhere which can disturb the flowing of the river. We should plant many kinds of trees in the barren area or in the bank of the road. By doing those simple efforts, it means we have participated to the preservation of our environment.

Ladies and gentlemen …

Now, The question is, what is the relationship between Earth Day, Global warming, deforestation and Indonesia, Anybody know? …….Ok

Indonesia lies in the equator between the tropic of Cancer and Capricorn, because of it’s location, Indonesia is rich of rain forest. Scientists states that the function of rain forest is the lung of the world, they absorb greenhouse gas emissions, turn Carbon dioxide (CO2) into oxygen

(O2). It means that if the deforestation keeps going on and the greenhouse effect cannot be reduced. Finally the global warming will keep increasing on and on.

We live in the same world in this earth. The importance of saving our environment especially our rainforest in the need for all of us, for human being to survive. It is not only for us but also for our next generation.
